Why We Built This

Some of us don't get a normal schedule. Our bodies pay for it.

I know that feeling firsthand. I've rucked through the mountains of Dahlonega. I've worked toward my doctorate while holding down a full-time job. And now I work in the operating room — at all hours, under pressure, when it matters most.

For years my answer was caffeine and energy drinks. It got me through the shift, but recovery took days. The same goes for traveling — jet lagged, circadian rhythm completely off, reaching for anything to feel human again. It was never quite enough.

The science backs it up. Focus and reaction time take one to two days to fully return after sleep deprivation. Hormones like cortisol and growth hormone take two to three days to normalize. And the worst part — the longer it goes on, the less you notice how impaired you actually are.

I wanted something better. Something clean and crisp, without the jitters, that could prime your body before a long shift and help you recover after. Something that actually works with your body's rhythm instead of overriding it.

I drew on everything — years of competitive weightlifting, my background in medicine, and wilderness training — and built Greyline.
